SM Jaleel and Company proudly celebrated its 100th anniversary with a two-day Award Ceremony on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October 2024.
We were honoured to have Senator the Honourable Paula Gopie-Scoon, Minister of Trade and Industry, join us on Saturday to deliver the feature address. Ministry of Trade and Industry-TT
She indicated that between 2015 and 2023, food and beverage exports rose from $2.1 billion to $3.2 billion, with non-alcoholic beverage exports increasing by $188 million during this period. “SM Jaleel emerged as a major player, accounting for 12 per cent of the country’s food and beverage exports in 2023,” she said.
As she congratulated SM Jaleel on its 100 years of business, calling it a source of national pride, Gopee-Scoon emphasised the rarity of companies that last a century, citing statistics from the US Bureau of Labour Statistics. She also highlighted many of our milestones including the fact that SM Jaleel is the first company in the Caribbean to manufacture hot filled PET bottles for our beloved Fruta and Caribbean Cool brands. As well as our ‘first in the world’ milestones by our Fruta and Chubby brands.

Her thoughtful reflections on our rich history, coupled with her recognition of our dedication to innovation and excellence, made a profound impact on everyone in attendance. Her congratulatory words and encouragement truly resonated as we celebrate this milestone and look forward to an even brighter future. Thank you, Minister, for your inspiring message and continued support.
