Our products are featured at the heart of your family gatherings and special moments and this inspires us daily to innovate and recalibrate when necessary to continue to give to our customers the best version of ourselves. We are firm believers in community development that truly augments. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we wish to renew our pledge to continue on this thrust of pioneering excellence, demonstrating the power, prowess and competence that comes from Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Region.

Mrs. Salaha Mohammed is the epitome of pioneering excellence, demonstrating great courage, foresight and commitment when she fearlessly acquired S. M. Jaleel and Company Limited in 1975. In 1974, the Company that Sheikh Mohammed Jaleel painstakingly built was facing economic challenges. Closure was imminent due to economic and competitive activity. She took the bold decision, to ask her son, Dr. Aleem Mohammed, who was at the time, entering the field of Medicine, to completely change his course of study and enter the family business. Her courageous decision, her love for her father, passion for his hard work and commitment to the business is what changed the course of time for S.M. Jaleel and Company Limited. It is because of this act of bravery, S.M. Jaleel & Company is celebrating 100 Years this year.

Dr. Aleem Mohammed has served S. M. Jaleel and Company Limited with great distinction, revolutionizing and recalibrating processes and systems, making the company a manufacturing giant in the region and across the globe. Dr. Mohammed, the last of his siblings, is a medical doctor by profession and upon his return from University in Jamaica, was asked by his mother to manage the SMJ business. His deep love and respect for his mother and family made him pivot and he honoured his mother’s wishes. Dr. Mohammed studied diligently the impact of financial management, production efficiencies, distribution, brand management and people management, elevating himself through the ranks of the company. S. M. Jaleel and Company Limited ‘s 100 year Anniversary is due, in part, because of the innovative and stellar leadership of Dr. Aleem Mohammed.
